Suddenly Silent
Is religion a sign of higher intelligence? No other species can grasp the idea of religion and they dont pray to some unknown god for assistance.
OR
Is religion a sign of humanity's weakness: It's inability to deal with the unknown. We NEED answers for everything, yet when it comes to religion we have to get by with just having faith.
OR
Does it really matter at all? When we all inevitably die, there will be no right and wrong, just death. I have faith in that.

First of all I think that it's quite ignorant of you to assume that no other species has found jesus.
also, higher intelligence? what's that supposed to mean?
and "C" just because you are going do die doesn't mean that I will. so don't go expecting me to submit to your silly ideas about natural progression

Well, I only base my comments on my conversations with living members of other species and not one has mentioned jesus. Perhaps it is an oversight on my part.
Higher intelligence is a reference to smoking crack.
I would never expect you to conform to my silly ideas about natural progression or mortality for that matter.

The answer is Yes.
Humanity has managed to both develop the concept of a high being to satisfy our own personal voids, but (perhaps accidentally?) also happened to find an excellent means of societal control.
Installing fear among humans, throughout the ages, has proven quite handy for the ruling elite. Irregardless of the existance of an actual Higher Being, the effect of the popular opinion that there is, makes for a more practical device.
